Wat als je ontdekt dat je helemaal geen wees bent?
Geadopteerd uit een weeshuis beland je in een westers land. Pas op latere (meestal volwassen) leeftijd ontdek je dat de papieren vervalst werden. Je bent geen wees, want je ouders leven nog.
Het overkwam Rani. Als kind werd ze in India ontvoerd en via een adoptiedienst geadopteerd door Belgische ouders. In deze documentaire getuigt ze over de kinderhandel in India, waarbij katholieke instanties een rol bij speelden. Ook Marcia, grootgebracht in Nederland, overkwam het. Zij wist de corruptie in Colombia bloot te leggen, wat voor een grote shock zorgde. Kurt ging als journalist naar Congo en bracht een heel circuit van kinderhandel aan het licht.

Dutch Marcia, a victim of adoption fraud, exposes corruption in Colombia with her organization, causing a shock wave in Belgium. Journalist Kurt exposes a network of Congolese child trafficking at the risk of his own life.
