Eind 19e eeuw woont keizerin Elisabeth van Oostenrijk-Hongarije - beter bekend als Sisi - in een aristocratische vrouwencommune in Griekenland. Gravin Irma wordt erheen gestuurd om Sisi’s metgezel te zijn, en zij raakt in de ban van de excentrieke en extravagante kluizenaarster. Maar de buitenwereld wil Sisi breken. En hoezeer Irma en Sisi zich ook verzetten, uiteindelijk blijft er slechts één fatale weg over, die de twee vrouwen voor altijd aan elkaar zal binden.

À la fin du XIXe siècle, l’impératrice Élisabeth d’Autriche-Hongrie - connue sous le nom de Sisi (Susanne Wolff) - vit dans une commune de femmes aristocratiques en Grèce.
